The Wedding of a Lifetime Some of us at some time may have watched this show and thought wow if only I could have a wedding like that. I am here to tell you that you can. You are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb of God and your choice today can make the difference whether you attend or not. Usually you will find a story here but this month I want to share the Words of Our Lord Jesus Christ and I pray that you will receive them and receive His truth for it is His Word and it is truth. I will make my own comments at the end. This is taken from Matthew 22: 1-17 And
Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said: Again, he sent out other servants saying, "Tell those who are invited, "see I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready, Come to the wedding." But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, and another to his business. And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully and killed them." But when the king heard about it he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers and burned up their city. Then he said to his servants, the wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Therefore go into the highways and as many as you find, invite to the wedding. So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. So he said to him, Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. "For many are called, but few are chosen." Jesus spoke this parable to the Israelites, God's chosen people. He let them know that it was for them He had come but because of their rejection the door would be open to the Gentiles. The wedding garment can only come from our Lord and it shows the faithfulness and obedience to the will of God. When we respond to His invitation we then make a commitment to walk in Him and in His love. All are invited, but not all respond to the invitation. We find out later in the Word of God that the Lord will not forget His chosen but that for our sakes their hearts were hardened that the Gospel of Jesus Christ may come to the rest of the world and the Lord will still restore His precious chosen ones but in the meantime we have the opportunity to respond to His invitation, put on His robes of righteousness and walk according to His Word.
God is having a wedding feast. Jesus will be the bridegroom and we all have the opportunity to become His bride. What will you do today, will you respond to His invitation or will you also walk away as many others did. Remember it is not God's will that any should perish so the choice is yours. It will be a wonderful wedding and we will sit with Him at the banqueting table and feast on Him. It will be an exciting moment and we have every chance right now to respond to His call and invitation. Do not delay, for we truly do not know the day we will meet Him, prepare you heart, receive His love and forgiveness and feed on His Word. He is calling you. Will you be ready?
