His Love is Forever!

I remember there use to be a day
When I was convinced I knew just what to say
To those who were hurting with a broken heart
To those whose lives were so torn apart

I would stand in faith and I would pray
Believing every word I would say
Trusting God to show us all the way
To give His perfect peace every day

More and more people came my way
With problems they dealt with every day
When I would see the suffering stay
It would break my heart day after day

Still I would cry out to the Lord in prayer
Giving Him all the burdens and cares
But still no answer came to those in need
And I began to consider what I believe

I realized I had allowed the enemy to play
With my heart through words people would say
Some believed, some said Amen to a prayer
But often the word "but," would come with their cares

I allowed that word to stop me from praying in faith
No longer trusting God's great mercy and grace
For they told me I could not understand
And if I did I wouldn't expect them to stand

My heart broke as I watched lives torn apart
By unbelief in knowing who truly lived in their heart
I understood they had waited and prayed
And how so many hearts could be dismayed

But I was called by God to speak about His love
For that was what He wanted to show from above
He didn't tell me everything would be just great
But that His love is what would help overcome every day

For if we know His love, so faithful and true
Surely we will trust all that He will do
For there is no greater love given to us
Than through Jesus Christ who died on the cross

I know God is able to heal every broken piece
I know He is able to give perfect peace
I know He is faithful and always by our side
I know He has called us to be His bride

Sometimes we are just like the Israelites
That no matter what God did they put up a fight
Not learning to trust Him and rest in His love
Not understanding His power that comes from above

But this my friend is my message to you today
God's love is so real and it is here to stay
And though we may not understand everything
When we abide in His love we abide in the King

The things of this world are slowly passing away
What seems important today can slip right away
But God's love in your heart will always be there
And He is only as far away as a prayer

And though He may not do things in our time
We can drink of His living water in the meantime
We can feast at His table and worship and praise
Knowing His love is here forever to stay

The cares of this world, the hurts that come our way
Can truly be healed when in Him we stay
Trusting His love covers all things
And in His goodness He is working out everything

I don't have the answers so quickly anymore
Except to tell you Jesus loves you so much more
And if there were one hundred steps between Him and You
He would take ninety-nine and leave just one for you

So my friend today if you are broken in pieces
Take that one step and cry out for His peace
He will answer quickly for He waits for you
It is His good pleasure to give His Kingdom to you.

I wrote all this to say only one thing to you
I don't have the answers for all we go through
But this I know without a doubt in my heart
The love we have in Christ Jesus will never part.
