Our Names Are Written!

Oh the excitement we have in this life
To know our name is written in the Book of Life
What an assurance, what peace dwells within
Knowing nothing can separate us from Him.

In all of your years did you ever think
That your name would be written with God's ink
In His book preserved for eternity
No matter what happens I know that God knows me.

You may think you are nothing and no one cares
But God took time with you, His love to share
And when you received Jesus His Son
Your place in eternity could not be undone.

For when He writes Your name He declares
You are His even with all your cares
No one can snatch you out of His hands
For His promise will lead us to His promised land.

Think about this, let it dwell deep in your heart
The God of heaven has declared you have a part
In His purpose and plans for this life and the life to come
For on the cross when Jesus died victory was won.

He did it all, there is nothing left for you to do
But trust His Word that says He loves you
And when the cares of this world get you down
Remember Jesus is waiting with a crown

Let His joy and His peace overflow in your life
For He has chosen us to be called His bride
And when you fall asleep in this life for the very last time
You will awake in eternity with the One who says, you are mine.

It all seems too simple, the gospel of good news
We are convinced there must be something we have to do
To earn our place in His Kingdom and see His face
Yet God says just receive my free gift of grace

We may never be recognized on this earth
We have suffered rejection and so many hurts
Believing there is no hope for someone like us
Yet our part is just to believe and to trust

For if there was a work or a sacrifice that would earn our way
Jesus would never of had to suffer the way He did that day
But He did so that we may know Him as the Only way
To receive His offer of forgiveness that in His love we may stay

And what about the days we fail so much you might ask
Well God knew you would when He chose you for His task
And in spite of all our shortcomings and the many times we fall
He remains faithful to us and to His word through it all

So let us praise His name this day with all of our heart
For truly of His kingdom we are a part
Your name is known before the Almighty God as humbling as that may seem
It is time to just believe that truly Jesus is more than we could have ever dreamed

No other was willing to lay down His life for us
In no other sacrifice can we put our trust
So in the Blood of Jesus Christ let us rejoice exceedingly
For He is the One who opened the doors of heaven with His key

And because He did you name is written in the Book of Life
Giving us entry when we go to the other side
And though our names may be forgotten in this life
They will never be forgotten when Jesus is on our side.

Rejoice with me my friends, for truly the truth sets you free
Truth lifts the pressure of trying to be someone you can never be
For there was only One who would ever be perfect enough
And it is in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth we will trust.

I just think it is exciting to know that He knows my name
And because He does no longer is there shame
For if the God of heaven has opened His door to me
Then whatever man does cannot destroy what God says will be.

Trust in Him my friends, for He alone is worthy of your heart
Give Him your heart even with all your broken parts
He is not bothered that your life is not perfect in every way
Instead He sings over you and quiets you with His love every day.
