He Chose Me!

Jesus came and knocked on my door
Causing my knees to fall to the floor
He showed me the filthiness of my sin
And asked me if I would let Him in


He paid the ransom for my life
Delivered me from evil and strife
Took me by the hand and said "Follow Me,"
All the while filling me with love and mercy


He exchanged my heart for a new one from Him
Making me a new creature free from sin
Showed me His blood that was shed for me
Opened my eyes to see into eternity


Never in my wildest thoughts did I ever think
That I would know the love of this King
A pureness of oil that flows so very deep
The fragrance of His presence ever so sweet


He did not reject me like others before
Instead He said, Come to me I am the door
All you ever need you will find indeed
For I chose You, you did not choose me

I came to save that which was lost
I came to live and die on a cross
For all who will call and believe in My name
That never again would they live in shame

For I rose again and declared the victory
Over death and sin I have set you free
Eternal life my child I have granted to you
Walk in My Spirit this I will help you to do

You did not choose me, but I have chosen you
There is a purpose I have called you to
Just lean on my grace receive from my hand
Follow me my child into the promised land

Abide in Me and you will grow and see
Wondrous things you could only know from Me
Let faith arise and take hold of what you cannot see
For in your life I will work to show My glory

For there are others I have chosen in this world
Remember I died for every man, woman, boy and girl
There is nothing to hard for me none I cannot save
Just fix your eyes on me and always remember to pray

Now I sing with joy in my heart for He chose me
To live in Him and to rejoice in praise daily
Such a love I could never have found alone
Thankfully Jesus found me and will bring me home.

I love you Jesus and I thank you with all that is within
For cleansing me from the evil of sin
I stand before You now justified by Your sacrifice
For in You I have found truth, in You I found life.
