Heaven
Watched!

Heaven
watched as Jesus was nailed to the cross
They saw the pain on the faces of those who were lost
They saw the temple split in two, the saw the mockery
Yet all they could do was watch as Jesus sacrificed His body.
Heaven watched as they came to take His body away
To lay in a tomb for the next three days
They saw the defeat in the faces of those Jesus loved
But it was not time to bring the answer from above.
Heaven watched as the women made their way to the grave
With ointment for His body and with hearts that were breaking
They came looking for the Savior but the stone had been moved
away
This was the day Angels were sent to bring the good news their
way
Why do you look for Him here, the angels asked the women
Your Christ has risen from the dead He lives once again
Heaven watched as the tears and joy flowed from their hearts
And celebrated with them as they once again saw their healer
of broken hearts.
An excitement in heaven as never before took place that day
For never before had their been a Savior whose life did pay
For the sins of the world, for the hurting and the captive ones
Sing they did, worship they did, at the wonder of our Holy One.
Heaven watches now as we go forth in His name sharing His love
A team of faithful encouragers speak to us through their testimony
of faith
Heaven shouts, Oh world if you only knew the victory Jesus has
gained for you
You too would shout with us for Jesus died and rose again just
for you.
The clouds had slipped away, the enemy defeated, God's kingdom
was restored
He is the ultimate one in power and the Only One whose love
is forevermore
Heaven is watching now as we praise His name and worship Him
each day
And together with us they celebrate Jesus and cheer us along
the way.
Only God the Father knew what would happen on that one dark
day
Everyone else, including heaven could only watch and pray
But victory came on the other side of that cross where Jesus
gave His life
And now heaven waits as the Bridegroom waits patiently for His
wife.
Heaven will celebrate, a feast there will be on that great and
mighty day
When Jesus comes once again to take us all away
Singing, dancing, worship and joy will be everlasting throughout
eternity
And Our King will receive all those He has redeemed through
His sacrifice that day.
