Abba Father
by Pat Couchman

Abba Father will you come tuck me in tonight
Will you sing Your song over me as I turn out the light
Will you stay by my side through the lonely night
And be there in the morning when my eyes open wide

Abba Father when I wake up to a brand new day
Will you be there to help me and teach me Your way
Will you hold my hand tightly when no one else is around
Will you be sure my feet stay rooted on solid ground.

Abba Father I need you by my side day and night
For when I first met You I began to see the Light
Of a Father who loved me more than I could ever know
A Father who cared about me everywhere I go.

Some of us missed having a dad to say, "I love you."
And so we need You Lord to fill that place anew
With Your perfect love so kind and gentle too
We have a Father now who will bring us through.

Lord you are our song in the night, Our Light by day
Our lives are hidden in you, we listen to the words You say
The child within that never had that need met now looks to you
Knowing you will restore the Father's love we never knew

Abba Father I want to tell You just how thankful I am
For in my life Your love is above the love of any man
It doesn't matter that I may not be perfect or good enough
For to You Father I know You see the diamond in the rough.

Father I look forward to the day when I will see Your face
When You call the bride to the bridegroom on that awesome day
Because of Your love, Your mercy, Your grace and faithfulness
Our clothes are being changed to be adorned in righteousness
.

How awesome that You would take us as a bride for Your Son
In spite of our past and all the awful wicked things we have done
But You have changed our hearts and caused us to desire You
And to Our Bridegroom all I know to say is, "I do."

Thank you Father God for giving Your Son that we might enter into eternal life, that we might become the Bride of Christ. We praise You this day and give You all the glory in JESUS name. AMEN!
