Jesus
Led Me To The Cross Today
by Shae Cooke
Jesus led me to the Cross today,
He broke through my stubborn heart
He took my hand and led me there,
Despite satan's fiery darts.
He
made known to me the path of life,
Directions diamond clear
Fell to my knees and worshiped Him
Jesus calmed my fear.
Knelt
at the foot of the rough-hewn tree
Hugged the splintered wood to my breast.
I looked up at His face, and tenderly He said,
"Come, Precious One and rest".
I
cried a million tears, or more
As my Saviour ministered to me,
Yet He was the one suffering,
On the tree at Calvary.
He
wept, though not through pain
Of jagged nails piercing His skin;
His tears were shed as He watched
Me feel His blood wash away my sin.
His
blood was as scarlet, as a King's should be,
Each drop bearing the burdens of humanity
As I knelt and lifted my arms to my King,
I learned a lesson in humility.
The
Lamb of God took His final breath,
My heart cried out, Oh, LORD!
The soldier came and pierced Him
With a sharp and mighty sword.
My
sins and grief died with Him
At the blessed Cross today,
Darkness fled, and Light came in,
Because I knelt to pray.
Jesus,
Jesus, Jesus,
Holy Is Your Name.
Thank you for your sacrifice,
For You were not too blame.
Oh
Father, God in Heaven,
Thank you for your Son!
Because He shed His Blood,
My battles have been won.
Although
I'd let Him in my heart,
I hadn't let Him lead.
Not until I saw the cross
and watched my Saviour bleed.
BLESS
THE LORD, OH MY SOUL, AND ALL
THAT IS WITHIN ME,
BLESS HIS HOLY, NAME!
