Your
Eyes
by Pat Couchman
Lord of all the desires of my heart
There is one desire that never departs
And that is to see Your Eyes
I
can only imagine the love that one would see
As they look into your eyes throughout eternity
Compassion and grace looking back at me
From My Savior who gave His life for me.
Eyes
so perfect, full of life, love and mercy too
Eyes that would let us know how safe we are in You
Eyes that say come to Me, do not be afraid
Eyes that say for you the price was paid.
Eyes
that see all the hurt and the pain of this world
Eyes that say I am your Father you are my little girl
Eyes that welcome all who come to You in faith
Eyes of love, mercy, and truth will be seen by all those who
wait.
What a day that will be when we get to
see your face
But it is Your eyes that keep me captivated in my faith
For I think of the eyes that looked down from the cross
And saw the world that was so hopelessly lost
Yet You did not see what they were doing to you
Instead you cried out, Father forgive for they know not what
they do.
To
see through your eyes as we walk through this life
Would totally bring an end to all envy and strife
For instead of seeing what is being done to us each day
We would see the eyes that would make us cry, "Let me show you
the way"
Lord
I pray for your eyes to be what people will see
When they look at me let them see your love given freely
I pray for your grace, your compassion to flow through my eyes
So they would see the Savior of the world and receive their
sight.
Your
eyes, My Jesus, Your eyes I long to see
A desire that burns within me to see You looking at me
Let me see your eyes when I stare into a child's face
Or walking down a street seeing a face with no name
Let
love be the guiding light as we walk through this life
Knowing someday you will come back for Your wife
And on that day all my desires will be fulfilled more than I
can know
For I will finally see the eyes of My Savior the One who loves
me so.
