Love Never Fails,

So Don't Stop Praying!

by Pat Couchman

Someone has hurt you or a family member in some way. They have said things, done things, rejected things and nothing you say or do helps them. You are frustrated, upset, mad, even angry to the point you can't see straight. Thoughts run through your mind how you will never speak to that person again, or things will never be the same again between you, or even the thought of hoping to never ever see that person again. Everything you think, feel and say is justified in your eyes. They deserve to take the punishment you are ready to hand out to them even if it is never spoken to them. We all know silence seems to speak the loudest at times. So all is done and said and decisions have been made, relationships broken and life is going along nicely now without that person in your life.

Then one day you are out, at the mall perhaps, or the supermarket, or even visiting family and that person that hurt you is also present. You do all you can to ignore them, and try not to think about what they did, because you can feel the anger rising up in you all over again. Then something happens.

You see a car coming, a light fixture falling, an accident about to happen, and it is about to happen to that person who made you so angry. In that second you don't even think about how mad you are, instead you find yourself running to rescue them from the very thing that is about to kill them. It is not until it is all over that you realize your love for that person was stronger than the hate and bitterness and anger you felt toward them just moments before. You find yourself being thankful that they are alive and not dead, that they are healthy and not injured, that they are standing before you and not lying on the ground under that car or light fixture. Emotions run through you as you come to your senses and realize that no matter what that person did to you or your family member you would never want them to die especially when it is in your hands to save their life. Love overrides every bad feeling you had, love covers the multitude of sin, love never fails.

Now think about all the people you know that have turned away from God, or have never turned to Him. They may have hurt you in the past, or they may have hurt someone you know and unforgiveness keeps you from praying for them. Yet they are headed right into that same wreck if someone doesn't intercede. They are headed into captivity, into darkness and on a path to hell and though there is only One who can save them, there is something you can do also.

Prayer!

It is the one thing we have that we can do for anyone, anytime, anyplace. It is the gift God has given to us, to come to Him and intercede on that person's behalf. To cry out to Him to save them from the dangers that await them in a life without Him. We, my friends, have this gift because of Jesus, the One who was willing to intercede for us and reach out and grab us before it was too late. When we can look beyond the person, beyond their actions and behavior and we can see the soul that is in darkness, we have the opportunity to seek God on their behalf. To pray for the Holy Spirit to capture their hearts and turn them around and bring them to their knees, that they too will see and know Jesus.

We see things happen everyday to those we love and if we are honest we would admit there is nothing we would not do to prevent someone from hurting. Yet every day souls are going further and further into darkness, people are being led away by their own lusts and desires, they are on a road to death, physically and spiritually and we as Children of the Living God need to stand in the gap and cry for their soul as never before.

I know in my heart there is not one person reading this who can honestly say they want to see another person burn in hell for eternity. I know because the love of God reigns in our heart and we know it is not His will for any to perish, and no matter what someone has done, is doing, or will do, they are truly just lost souls. They are blinded by the ruler of this earth and if we don't intercede and stand in the gap for them, they can stay blinded for a very long time.

There is no greater darkness that a soul without the Light of Jesus Christ in it. There is no greater grief than a soul dying and us not knowing whether they received the forgiveness Jesus has for them. There is no greater pain than to know someone has walked away from Our Loving Savior to go back to the things of this world.

Friends, we must cry out for even our worst enemy, we must ask the Lord to bless them, to save them, to enlighten them to Himself. We must get in the way of the darkness trying to overtake them and be like Jesus, who was willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause.

But I have prayed, you may tell me. and things have not changed. My friend, do not stop praying, never give up, because Love overcomes evil with good, Love covers a multitude of sins, and LOVE NEVER FAILS!

Just ask Jesus and He will let You know through the love He has given to you, because you my friend were once on that same road, headed toward hell, when someone prayed for you and God heard and answered that prayer
.
