Sometimes as adults we forget the very precious basics
of Our Father's true love for us. We seem to think we can take
care of things without Him and more than that we think He is not
in the middle of our circumstance or our problem. There are times
in our life when we are praying for people and we don't see any
significant change so we just take it upon ourselves to attempt
to fix it. I don't know about you but every time I have taken
things into my own hands they just don't seem to work out as well
like they do when I put them in God's hands.
So
why do we do it? Why do we keep trying to fix something or someone
only God can fix? For me I think it is because what I can see
is easier than what I cannot see. It is hard to imagine that God
is at work in a life when you don't see any evident changes. Thank
God He knows our hearts and in sometimes the simplest ways He
will bring answers and correction to our hearts. This happened
to me recently and I thank Jesus that He is always willing to
teach us that He is right there and HE IS ABLE!
One
evening as I was sitting with my grandson on His bed talking about
the Lord and all that He has created. We were discussing my dislike
of bugs and how I wondered why God created them. With all six
years of his little heart and wisdom he proceeded to tell me,
"well Grandma, you have to be a caterpillar before you can
be a butterfly." How awesome to be reminded of that fact
by this little one. Of course it made me think about how awesome
our God is and that he does take things we may not like and shows
us the beauty in them. As I agreed with my grandson he then continued
to pour even more wisdom in my heart.
Grandma,
no one can hide from God."
I looked at him and wondered why he was saying this to me and
I pressed him a little more. "How do you know that Austin?"
"Because God is everywhere," he told me. Again I said,
"how do you know that Austin? "Because HE TOLD ME,"
was his response. I sat in awe of God speaking to this six year
old. Austin didn't need a book to tell him, or anyone else for
that matter, his little heart was so pure He was able to hear
God's voice. I was blessed and continue to pray for his heart
to stay open to God's voice. More importantly I was blessed by
the message God was sending me through this little one.
There
are people in my life that I have been praying for. There are
times when I think they are so far from God that my prayers will
never be answered. But out of the mouth of babes, I was taught,
yet once again, God is everywhere. A fact the Bible states but
more than that it had to become truth to my heart. No one can
hide from Him my grandchild reminded me. Austin blessed my heart
that night and caused me to continue to pray even more fervently
for those who need to be touched by Jesus, who need to come home
to Him and walk again in the joy of their salvation. I believe
the Lord was speaking to this child to let me know, "fear
not, I am with them just as I am with you. No one is too far out
of MY reach."
My
friends, is there someone in your life you have given up on. Someone
you think has just gone too far away from the Lord and will never
return? Someone you may have stopped praying for because it just
looked so impossible, even for God? Friends, His word says, "nothing
is impossible for Him," and that it is not His will for any
man to perish." He also tells us that He will go after that
one sheep and will never leave nor forsake any of us. There is
help my friends, for you and for your loved ones, even for your
enemies. Trust the Lord with their hearts and lives while you
walk in His footsteps and follow Him. He knows exactly where each
person is every second of the day. He knows the exact moment in
time when He by His Spirit will turn their heart back to Him.
He will pursue them in ways we can't even imagine. He loves mankind,
He died for us and if He died for us than what can stop Him from
turning a heart toward Him. The Word of God says, He works in
us for His good pleasure. He is always at work in our lives and
in the lives of those we pray for.
Take
hope my friends in the impossible. Don't be too quick to give
up in prayer. Jesus hears you and His word says, "before
we call, He answers. His help in on the way no matter what it
looks like today. He will prevail. His love will prevail.
Listen
to the wisdom of this six year old. If he knows in His heart that
God is everywhere and that no one can hide from Him, than how
much more we who are sealed in Christ should walk in complete
confidence this day and everyday in the power and love of Our
Father in heaven. God is everywhere! He is with those you cry
out to God for. He is with our servicemen overseas. He is with
your loved ones no matter where they might go everyday. He will
never leave nor forsake you or them. His mercy endures forever
and His faithfulness is beyond our understanding. All He asks
for us to do is to trust Him and to worship Him and to cast all
our cares upon Him. He cares for you my friend and He cares for
those you are praying for. Look to Him to turn their heart to
Him.
