Devotion
for November 2005

For
the Son of man is come to seek and to save that
which was lost"
Luke
19:10

Jesus
did not come into this world to condemn the world,
but to seek and to save those who were lost. He
came to bring healing to the broken-hearted, to
set the captive free, to bring good news to the
poor and to declare the year of the Lord. He came
because He loved you and me. He came because He
knew we needed a Savior. He knew there was no one
who could save themselves, no one who could be perfect
enough, righteous enough to enter into the Holy
of Holies without a perfect sacrifice. He came to
be that perfect sacrifice that would be accepted
by God. He came that we would be set free from the
bondage of sin and be able to declare His righteousness
before the Father. He came to be the Mediator, the
one who stands between us and the Father. He came
to give us freedom to enter into the throne room
of God boldly with His grace. He came because He
loves you.
Some
may not even know they are lost and need to be found.
So many are wandering aimlessly through this earth
wondering why they are even here, but cannot find
the words to express their hearts to others. My
friends, Jesus will listen, He hears the cry of
your heart and He wants to change those tears of
desperateness into tears of joy. He wants to be
there with you through the lonely nights when you
think there is no one who cares. He wants to comfort
you and put a song in your heart when you think
you cannot go one more minute. He wants to be your
friend. He wants to be the one who is there in times
of trouble.
Jesus never promised us a perfect life. In fact,
He said, "In this world you will have tribulation,
but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
My friends we have a Savior that has overcome everything
in this world including death and that is why we
can be of good cheer. We can celebrate our lives
in Him, His life in us and the fact that we can
be of good cheer no matter what we are going through
in this life.

My friend, if you are that one who is lost today,
who does not know Jesus as Savior and Friend, I
pray that today you will reach out to Him, call
on His name and know that you are the very one He
came to save. You are the One that made His death
on the cross worth it, He wanted you to know Him
and for that reason He died and rose again. May
you always know His peace, love and joy in your
life.

The
Word For May 2005 |
"A
man that hath friends, must show himself friendly,
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a
brother."
|

The
friend that sticks closer than a brother is Jesus
Christ. No one can be with you all of the time,
even if you live in a household of people, there
will still be times when you will find yourself
alone, or feeling lonely and that is the time my
friends to know this ONE that sticks closer than
a brother. He is with you wherever you go.

In
the Gospels we are told of the many places Jesus
went that the religious people of His times didn't
think he should go. He ate with tax collectors and
fisherman, he sat with sinners and was anointed
with oil by a former prostitute. Jesus may take
us places we never thought we would go, or wouldn't
want some of our friends to know about, but thank
God, Jesus is not stopped by man. If there is a
soul that needs to be saved, Jesus will be there.
All we need to do is be willing to follow Him by
His Spirit. That is how close He is too us, that
wherever we go, wherever He wants to go, we can
always be assured in our hearts that He is with
us and He is there to touch a life through these
earthen vessels He chose to dwell in. Jesus is your
best friend and He will stick closer to you than
anyone else, no matter what, so I pray this day
you will know Him and you will always know how close
He is too you.

Romans
8:38
"For
I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels
nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor
things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created
thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God
which is in Christ Jesus Our Lord."

Nothing,
absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God
that is ours through Christ Jesus. I know there are many
who think they have gone too far away, or they have done
too many bad things, or they could never be good enough
and think God no longer loves them. Oh my friends, nothing,
just as this verse says can separate you from His love.
God is not man, His love is from everlasting to everlasting.
Nothing can come between you and His love. He will never
stop loving you, no matter what!
I
know the love of Jesus is real. I know if you turn to
Him today you too will know His love. He died for you,
He paid the price and there is nothing this world, or
the enemy of our souls can do that can take that dying
love away from us. All we have to do is trust in His love,
trust Him with all of your heart and know that He is God.
His plans are for good and not for evil. He will never
turn you away no matter what you have done. Jesus came
to save those who were lost, He came to heal those who
were sick, He came to give us life and life more abundantly.
Trust His love this day and turn to Him that you may know
the love that will never fail you and can never be taken
from you.

Word for January 2005

Ephesians
5:18:21
"And
do not be drunk with wine, to which is dissipation,
but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another
in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and
making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks
awalys for all things to God the Father in the name
of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another
in the fear of the Lord."

There
is a river that never runs dry from the throne room
of God into our hearts. It is the living water of Jesus
Christ, the water He spoke about to the woman at the
well. When we are filled with His living waters it is
easy to speak to one another with psalms, and hymns,
with songs in our heart and it is easy to make melodies
in our heart to Him. And as we do there is a grateful
heart that gives thanks no matter how dark the storm
may be that hovers over our livse at times.
I remember the
first time I had a song in my heart, rather than a battle
between good and evil. All of my life I had felt as
if two people lived within me and I wanted only to have
peace. God in His faithfulness gave me that peace and
He also gave me a song. It was so foreign to me I had
to ask a friend if it was normal. I did not know the
verse above, neither did I know the Lord promises to
give us a new song. Now I wake up with a song every
morning. There are times in certain situations that
God will give me a song to hold on to as He brings me
through that situation. I can be talking to someone
on the phone, praying with them, ministering to them
and the Lord will put a song in my heart that is just
right for the moment. I feel as if I have my own radio
station inside my spirit that is controlled by God.
He changes the channel and just in case I am not listening
He will even turn up the volume so that it becomes louder
than me and louder than the situations I am dealing
with. How awesome is Our God to take a person like me,
who always had a battle raging and replace that battle
with songs in my heart.
Jesus
will give you a new song. He will give you a new heart
if you ask Him. He will carry you through every storm
of life and He will lead you by His Spirit to victory
over that storm. We do not need to be drunk with anything
of this world, we only need to be filled with His Spirit
and when we are speaking to one another in psalms and
song and submitting to one another in the fear of the
Lord is made easy. Jesus is so in love with us, His
joy is unspeakable as His word says, nothing can separate
us from His love and His mercy is everlasting.
If
you heart has a battle inside, if you do not know peace
and joy then I pray today that you will call upon the
name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, ask
Him to forgive your sins and to fill You with Holy Spirit.
He will answer you and You will know Him and you too
can know what it is to have a song in your heart and
peace in your soul.

Jesus
is the only way to heaven. He is the door which we must
enter by. There is no other way and if someone tells you
there is please do not listen to them. It is only through
the shed blood of Jesus Christ that we can enter into His
kingdom both in this life and in eternity. The thief steals,
Jesus gives life. Turn to Jesus today and walk through the
door that is open for You where His love awaits.
