I heard the most awesome testimony of a church that really learned
to love one another, a church willing to serve in the true sense
of the word and I would love to share it with you. I hope I get
it all right cause it is coming 3rd person now. Be blessed as
you read and just think what would happen if churches across the
nation began to do this very thing.
Laurie
attended church on Sunday morning. The sermon, "love one another."
The Pastor explained how years before when he went to minister
somewhere the Lord had given him the message to tell the people,
the message was "love one another."
The
pastor talked with the Lord and said, but Lord I have preached
this message many times, are you sure this is the one you want
me to preach. The Lord answered and said, yes you have preached
it many times, but have you seen your church rising up and loving
one another, The pastor answered humbly "No Lord, I have not seen
much difference.
When
the Pastor arrived to the designated church, he got up to the
pulpit and said, "Love one another ", and sat down. The
congregation looked at him and wondered what was going on. A few
minutes later he stood up again and said, "Love one another,"
and again went and sat down. Again the congregation wondered what
was going one. The third time he stood up and said, "love one
another," this time there was a response from someone in the
church, they said "I got it."
This
person went over to someone and began praying for them. Before
you knew it, the whole church was praying one for another. If
there was financial need money was given to the one in need by
the one praying for them. Truly the church was learning what it
meant to love one another.
The
day Pastor Mike spoke to his congregation about this testimony
he explained why he chose this day to share it with the church.
He said before he had come to the service he received a phone
call from a Pastor's wife there in town from another church. She
explained to him that her husband had just been diagnosed with
prostrate cancer and asked Pastor Mike if he and his congregation
would pray for him at their service
Well
Pastor Mike did more than that; he declared to his church that
they were going to "love one another." He then directed
everyone to their cars and told them to follow him to the other
church where the Pastor who had just been diagnosed was preaching.
Everyone
in the church followed their leader and got in their cars and
drove to the other church in town. When they arrived, Pastor Mike
explained to the Pastor that they had come to love him and to
pray for him and one by one every member of the church prayed
for the Pastor who was diagnosed with cancer. The Pastor wept
as he saw the love being poured out to him from another church,
the people wept as they ministered to him and were blessed to
be part of the blessing. The two churches became as one and in
the true Spirit of Christ ministered to one another.

What an awesome
outpouring of love. What a true witness of what it means to not
only go to a service on Sunday but to be a part of the service
of Christ Jesus. I pray this story spreads all through the nations
of what this one Pastor did, that other churches may follow the
example of what it truly means to love one another
I
thank my friend Laurie for sharing this with me and for allowing
me to share it with others. Be blessed my friend and let us continue
to "love one another" not just in word but also in deed.
God bless you.
