Will You Take All of It?

In Luke 23 we read how lots were cast for the garments of Jesus as He hung on a cross. As He hung there dying for the sins of the world there were those nearby dividing up His garments. Hard to imagine that as One was being crucified, in the hearts of men were only their selfish desires. They sought only His garments and cast lots for them.

I cannot imagine such a scene but the Bible tells us of it so we know it happened. I was actually reading about this in a book by Max Lucado when through my Spirit another questions was asked:

What part will you take?

I realized the Lord was not speaking of His garments but of what He did on the cross. He accomplished so much for us that day yet we sometimes we only take part of what He did. We pretty much all have decided to receive His forgiveness of sins for some reason that seems to be the easiest part but He did so much more for us on that day.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 53:
"He was pierced for our transgressions"

Transgressions translated is revolt and rebellion, so for every act against Him and every rebellious thing in us He was pierced.

Have you received from Him His righteousness?
Have you received what He accomplished 2000 years ago?

He took it all, it is already done, He took all our rebellion and was pierced in His side for it. We are free and forgiven for rebellion in our lives.

Next Isaiah tells us:

"He was crushed for our iniquities"

Iniquities are our faults, our mischief and our punishment. He was crushed for it all. Every fault, every mischievous act and all the punishment we should have had it took it. When God sees us He sees Jesus crushed for us. We are free in Him to worship and praise and give thanks without fear of condemnation.

Isaiah then tells us:
"The chastisement of our peace was upon Him"

Chastisement translates into correction, discipline, instruction and rebuke, He took it all my friends, he took every discipline and and correction for us. Peace translates into; well, happy, health, prosperity, peace, favor, and rest.

Have you received His peace?

He took all the correction that we might have this perfect peace. Yes the enemy tells us we don't deserve any of this and He is right, but Jesus accomplished it for us, Are you willing to receive what He has done for you?

Finally and I know this is where we get caught up so many times about God's will when it comes to healing Isaiah said:

"And by His stripes we are healed."

Do you know what stripes translates into, it means bruise, hurt, bound, black and blue marks, stripes. Oh what He endured for us so that we may be healed. Healed translates into , to mend, to cure, to heal, to repair, thoroughly made whole. Thoroughly, wow, that means all of us, our whole mind body and spirit. He left nothing out.

The Word of God says, that Healing is the Children's bread, it also says Jesus is the Bread of life.

Will you receive what He has done?
Will you receive His sacrifice that you may be made whole in every area of Your life?

He paid a great price for it. We only need to believe and receive.

Those men at the foot of the cross gambled for His garments as He gave His all for us. Sometimes we stand at the foot of the cross and only take part of what He has offered to us. I pray that we the church begin to rise up and begin to receive and understand exactly what Jesus completed when He said, "It is Finished". He did it all, He left nothing out, nothing undone. It is ours through faith in His name even the faith that comes through Him.
As Peter and John said to the man at the gate so I speak to each one of us this night:

"silver and gold I have none, but what I have I give unto you, In the name of Jesus rise up and be healed"

Church it is time to rise up, be filled up and go forth in the power of the Holy Spirit and spread the good news of Jesus Christ. Pray for the sick and they will recover is what Jesus said, and so we must do and stand on the Word of God and the accomplishments of Jesus Christ on the cross and make a decision to not let go of all the glory that is ours through Him.
Rise up church and be healed.
